What does the assessment consider?

Liposuction targets fat deposits in selected areas. Skin elasticity affects the outcome, and lax skin may require a different discussion from fat removal. Liposuction is not a treatment for obesity or a substitute for weight management.

An approach to fit the details.

Your goals and individual assessment guide the plan.

  • Liposuction of selected areas.

  • VASER-assisted body contouring.

  • Fat re-injection; the area, technique and its specific risks are discussed during assessment.

  • Buttock fat transfer (BBL).

Techniques and options to discuss

VASER body contouring

An ultrasound-assisted technique used to break down fat before suction. Suitable areas and the limits of contouring are discussed in relation to skin and tissue condition.

Buttock fat transfer · BBL

Fat is transferred from another area of the body to the buttocks to modify volume and shape. This differs from a lift that removes excess skin; examination guides the choice.

Lipoedema assessment

Lipoedema is an abnormal accumulation of fat, usually in the legs and sometimes the arms, which may cause pain, heaviness and bruising. Assessment distinguishes it from other causes of swelling and considers symptom management. Liposuction may be considered in selected cases after specialist assessment; it is not a cure.

How to read clinical photographs

Make an informed decision.

Could this be right for you?

  • Localised fat and skin elasticity are assessed; liposuction is not an obesity treatment.
  • Health, smoking and expectations are reviewed rather than choosing a technique from its brand name alone.

Risks and limits

Examples for discussion, not a complete list. Risks depend on the procedure and your health. Discuss your individual risks and alternatives, including no treatment.

  • Contour irregularities, asymmetry or residual loose skin.
  • Fluid collection, infection or sensation changes that may persist.
  • Injury to deeper tissues, blood clots, or cardiac and pulmonary complications.
  • Ultrasound-assisted liposuction can cause heat injury; fat injection has additional area-specific risks.
  • Buttock fat grafting can cause serious, life-threatening fat embolism. The specific risks of BBL must be discussed before a decision.

Care continues after your procedure.

Recovery and follow-up

  1. Compression garments and care of dressings or drains may be required; ask for practical instructions.

  2. Bruising and swelling may initially limit activity; return to work and exercise depends on the procedure and your work demands.

This information helps you prepare for a consultation. It does not determine suitability or replace a medical examination.

Room for your questions.

You do not need to have made a decision before your consultation.

Questions worth asking

  • Is the concern localised fat, loose skin, or both?
  • How does skin quality matter?
  • Would another procedure be considered, and what are its risks?

Frequently asked questions

Is contouring a weight-loss treatment?

Its purpose is to address selected areas, not to achieve general weight loss.

Are results guaranteed or identical to the photographs?

No result is guaranteed. Anatomy and healing vary from person to person. Case photographs and simulations are not a promise of your outcome.

What about recovery and returning to work?

This depends on the procedure, your health and your work. Discuss expected downtime, restrictions, follow-up and when to seek urgent advice before scheduling treatment.
